Breast Cancer Foundation NZ’s iconic Pink Ribbon Street Appeal has been running for almost twenty years and is one of our biggest fundraisers. The appeal is held during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October each year, when nearly 10,000 volunteers from across New Zealand take to the streets to collect funds for breast cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient support.
This year the appeal will take place nationwide on Friday 27 & Saturday 28 October.
Keen to get involved? Here’s how you can help:
Click this link to select a two-hour collection shift at a time and place that suits you.
Register to confirm your collection shift. You’ll need to enter some details to secure your preferred shift, including your contact details. This is so we have a record of everyone who is collecting during the appeal.
Visit our volunteer portal at any time to view and update your collection shift. Once you’ve registered, you’ll be able to log in at any stage to view or change the collection shift you’ve signed up for, purchase a Pink Ribbon Street Appeal t-shirt, or update your details.
Join thousands of volunteers to collect for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ in October! We’ll keep in touch in the lead-up to the Street Appeal so you have all the information you need before your shift, but all you'll need to do is show up at your collection location at the time you have selected on our volunteer portal. Everything you need (pink ribbons, collection buckets, volunteer sashes) will be provided for you and passed on by the previous volunteers at your site or by your local Area Coordinator. During your shift, you will give out pink ribbons and education cards in return for a donation. Remember to smile and thank anyone who donates! At the end of your two-hour shift, pass all the materials on to the volunteers who have arrived for the next shift or, if you are the final shift of the day, on to your Area Coordinator.
Any questions? Please check out the Volunteer FAQ‘s or get in touch with the team at pinkribbon@bcf.org.nz or 0508 105 105. Otherwise, check out the available collection shifts.
